Day 23 (Week 4)
Tent - 2x4x6
Indoor • 48cm x 72cm x 24cm

This Poddy Mouth plant is currently in its flowering stage, having transitioned from vegetative growth around day 18. The grower meticulously prepared a custom living soil blend for this grow, aiming for a nutrient-rich and aerated medium. Early in the grow, the plant showed a slower start but quickly picked up pace, leading to topping at the fifth node and the implementation of LST (low-stress training) and SCROG (screen of green) techniques to manage canopy development. The grower also addressed a suspected magnesium deficiency with targeted supplements, and the plant appears to be recovering well and showing good structure as it progresses through flowering.

Notes

Custom second-cycle living soil in 7-gallon Rain Science bags. Built by reclaiming the soil from two previous 9-gallon outdoor auto planters. Root balls were broken up and removed, then both batches were combined and thoroughly blended before being re-amended. Each 10-gallon batch received fresh Coast of Maine Stonington Blend, additional earthworm castings, charged biochar (pre-charged with EWC, fish hydrolysate, and molasses), Stonington Plant Food, kelp meal, lobster meal, Stoned Dust, and extra pumice to restore structure and aeration. After amendment, the soil was pre-moistened and allowed to “cook” for several days before planting. Each 7-gallon Rain Science bag was filled from the blended mix, leaving a central seed cavity that was dusted with Mykos and Azos before being filled with Sprout Island Seed Starter Soil to provide a gentle, biologically active germination zone surrounded by the richer amended living soil. The goal was to provide a highly aerated, microbially active organic medium with a mild seed-start environment transitioning naturally into a nutrient-rich living soil capable of supporting the plants through most of the grow with minimal bottled inputs.

Note
Day 64… noting some significant stretch over just the last 24 hours… this is going to be a bit of a challenge to manage over the next week or two… I only have maybe 2 more inches I can raise the light so I’ll be working hard to keep her at the second trellis net.
Note
Noting some magnesium related fade here, showing pronounced interveinal chlorosis, with tissue between the veins yellowing while the veins remain distinctly green, most consistent with a magnesium deficiency or lingering magnesium uptake problem. Next feed will include Epsom salt to correct.

Tree Logs
Note
I am also going to flip her, shift to 12/12. While doing that I’m also getting off my ‘summer’ light schedule, going to 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. To facilitate that change, when lights go out today at 1:00 pm, I’ll adjust to the 6 to 6 schedule, so she’ll have a prolonged night tonight…
Note
Day 58… there has been a notable improvement in color and overall health since I started the ‘emergency’ feeds of the Fox Farm trio w/ Cal-Mag. I believe now that the problems were caused by an insufficiently boosted batch of reused soil.

I am going to shift to FOOP organic nutrients next feed and treat her as basically needing regular feeding, at least every other watering, almost as though it were coco instead of soil, to get through this grow.

Note
Day 51, noting some significant nutrional deficiencies… some serious fade that has come on pretty quickly. I think this is a magnesium availability issue, could also be nitrogen. I feel like the reused soil was not sufficiently recharged. Put together a top dress and liquid feed, including Epsom salts (magnesium) and fish hydrosolate (nitrogen) to provide immediate relief as well as dry amendments to help going forward. Will consider other more immediately available nutrients next feed.

Day 37… I need to get GC out of this tent so I can get the two photos, PM and GZ, under control. My 2x2 is currently being used to dry the plant that just finished there, BPPR3. So it’s going to be another 5-7 days before I can move GC there. So, I decided I could not wait longer to start training the two photos…
Note
Day 37… last nights feed curve looks good, a thorough irrigation, already ramping down nicely… also a note, I am not seeing any significant gnat population. The same yellow sticky has not picked up hardly any over the course of the last several days…

Note
After an 18 hour soak and sinking to the bottom, I planted a Humboldt Poddy Mouth seed this morning. She’s in a 7 gal Rain Science bag. I’m using an Ecowitt soil moisture sensor to monitor the soil through the grow. I have my EVO3 on 1 at 14”, set to run 24 hours. As soon as she sprouts I will adjust to 18/6. I’m not overly concerned with VPD for now with the dome in place over the seed bed. Here again, once she pops I’ll adjust the tent VPD appropriately.

This 2x4 tent is stocked with all ACI equipment including a 6” Cloudline Pro exh fan, a Cloudforge T3 humidifier, an Ionframe EVO3 (Samsung LM301H EVO Commercial LED Grow Light, 280W Full Spectrum), Ionbeam U4 (Targeted Spectrum UV LED Grow Light Bars), Ionbeam S16 (Full Spectrum LED Grow Light Bars 16”), 2 Cloudray S6 Circ Fans, and a Thermoforge T3 heater, all controlled by a Controller 69 Pro+.
