NoteWelp, can’t only show the good and not show the bad… No grow is the same, every grow is a new grow with new lessons and i’m quickly reminded of that every time I tend forget…lol Im far from an expert but I really feel like a newb after this...🤦🏾♂️
Ok, here’s the short version…. I had zero issues thru veg… Defoliated, set up the trellis, lowered the light, gave a top dress feeding, and prepared to flip in about 3-5 days.. About a day later tho I started to notice a slight discoloration in the leaves and she didn’t look as happy.. Knowing that it takes a few days before uptake of dry amendments I ruled out over feeding/nute. The next day it worsened which cause me to hold off from flipping to flower for about another week in a half… Over that time it got slightly better but didn’t completely go away.. I crossed my fingers, hoped for the best, and flipped.. Abouts 2/3 weeks into flower I noticed the issue continuing and slow bud growth/development although it seemed the plant itself was still slightly stretching.. I assumed that it was due to the stress cause by tucking and bending in the trellis, defoliation, ect… But still, it continued so after problem shooting for nitrogen, potassium, cal/mag, and other deficiencies. Flushing and checking my ph, ppm’s (which I usually don’t do or need to do much growing organiclly) only for the issue to continue and seem to worsen even, mostly up top, even sugar leaves browning which i’ve never experienced… I was completely lost and at this point skeptical about her even making it to harvest!!
So I went back thru some notes and watched a few informational videos, thought about what was happening, how it was happening, and when it began to happen!!! And that’s when it hit me, LIGHT BURN!!!😳 I immediately raised my light in hopes things would improve and guess what, improve things did!!🙌🏾
This is about my 10th grow under this light, about 7 different stains and more than once different strains at the same time… I’ve always followed the recommended distance of 12-18 inches during flower st full power and haven’t had a single issue in the past!!! Which is the reason it never even crossed my mind that it was the light causing the issues the whole time… Which takes me back to what I said earlier.. Every grow is a new grow and no grow is the same, lesson learned!!!💯📝
She made it to harvest, now i’m just hoping I didn’t strew and damage her too much.. Not worried about the yield much just hoping the quality is still decent at least!!🤞🏾🤞🏾
