I think I’ll consume a little of this to test out the buds. I’ll continue to keep curing some of this for a good 6 moths, and will save some larger buds for this longer cure.. I will compare the qualities of both smokes later.

Wanted a taster again, so grabbed two little buds, maybe 0.6 g and twisted up a joint.
Great citrus notes. Very euphoric high. As a first toke of the day after work, it gave me a pleasant and uplifting high. I was impressed with how smooth this smokes. Looking forward to having another smoker taste test this GSC. Next round coming down in a couple of weeks.

Still continuing the daily burping for an hour. The humidity has been kept between 60-65 and kept in the dark. The buds are starting to get a nice smell to them. Some of the smaller buds still have a slight cut grass smell when opening, so I know these still have a while to go. Overall I get a citrus hit when I open the nice bud jar.

End of the second week of curing. Took the buds out just to check them over and look for any moisture issues. Took the trim as this is essentially cured and made a 10g bagged of milled, ready to roll. The rest of the buds and main colas will be left to continue to cure for at least another 6 weeks.

Trimming day. Buds are drying nicely. Small stems break when bent.
Trimmed, and put into three mason jars. 98g after drying. Humidity packs and hygrometers places in jars. Will cure and burp daily for at least 8 weeks for this cure.

Did a check last night and then again tonight. The 3x3 tent is holding tight at 20 degrees Celsius and 50% humidity. Using a B grade bud to lightly gauge the dryness with light squeezing. With the arid weather and low RH, I worry the outer buds will dry while still being quite moist inside. I did add a small fan to support air movement but may remove it if it dries the outer leaves too quickly. It’s just blowing below the tallest hanging buds, no direct air hitting them.

Tonight the GSC goes to sleep for two days, and then it’s harvest day. Hang dry for 7 to 10 days and then hand trim. Plant will be hung via hangers in the LumoX 3x3 tent with fan and exhaust through charcoal. This will be 9-1/2 weeks in flower. Plant has had a RO water flush for the last week.

Getting closer. Today is the start of week 8. Saw my 1st amber trichome under microscope. Still some clear but mostly cloudy. Stigma’s about 50% on the top colas, but 30% on the lower nodes. May trim the tops and let the bottom half go another week. We’ll see how this week goes and play it by ear.

Mid week 7. I’ve gone back to adding some bloom for the potassium deficiency and aside from the original burnt tips, it seems to have alleviated the issue. I’ll continue to provide nutrients for final bloom until Apr. 10, leaving a good window to flush before harvest. I’ll leave the burnt fan leaves as most are only about 20% coloured, and they still have energy left in them so I’ll let it use them up, turn yellow and let them naturally fall off. I may clean up any that are 50% burnt just to provide light to the inner buds and provide extra air flow.

Having this issue with the plant still. Flushed with water and the problem seemed to get a little worse. Looked more like a potassium deficiency. Added a little bloom for additional nutrient.

This is an autoflower strain. Preflower pistilles forming on all nodes along with additional signs, I’m assuming this is now starting to flower. Top stems also did a quick growth spurt.

Bought a Lumo-x 3x3x6 tent so I can move this GSC to flower next weekend. This is the start of week 8. I picked up a Phlizon 1200 led light for the 4x4 tent and moved the Phlizon 900 led from that side to the new Lumo-x for its flower stage. The plant has had some food and is responding well. The first pre flower white hairs are just starting to show.
I got some cool macro shots and broader canopy shots to show the last week of veg.
I’d also picked up some white plastic clips for lst. These seem to have done their job as this is filling in nicely.

I’ve had a week or so since the last update as I was dealing with a water or nutrient issue. Finally picked up a soil tester for ph/moisture/light to confirm thoughts. As this is now week 6 in veg, she’s continuing to consume a good amount of water. Need to install a wipe board or keep a log of watering as it’s really easy to fuck shit up. Easy to recover as well if caught quick enough.

She’s looking ok after the topping. Growth on the two side nodes below the cut is already noticeable. Stalk originally was cut with stainless steel and sanitized with iso. Cut sealed over very quickly and seems to be ok. I was a little concerned with the top fan leaves looking a little droopy at days end, but by morning, they recouped and were reaching up. Macro shot shows the two nodes growth after 36 hours. Overall image shows the two nodes and healing topped stalk.

Topped last night. Trimmed right above top node leaving the two new shoots to branch into 2 kolas. Might be too late to do another topping before flower as these are auto. I wouldn’t want to top or defoliate during flower at all aside from obvious yellow or ‘issue’ fan leaves. (PM/bugs/nutrient probs)
I also took 4 bottom fan leaves off to allow light and air to the lower nodes. Light improved but second layer of fan leaves from top down may also need to be removed (2 additional leaves), but I will wait the week and let it recover from the haircut before considering one more defoliation before flower.
